The people who make the world a better place are the people who give.

For a few months that I've been in sales, I don't think I have been very effective in my work. Whenever I hear of people closing million peso deals, I always scratch my head thinking why I'm not able to close even a few thousand deals. What is wrong with me? Maybe I'm not really meant for sales? Maybe our prices are too high? Maybe we need more marketing?

It was only today that I realized why. I wasn't giving enough. I realized that in sales, you need to think of the best for your client. You need to make them feel that you genuinely care for them and that you are there to make their lives better. You have to feel the desire to help them solve their own problems. And it's not only in sales actually, whatever your career is, you have to think about how to make the world a better place, even to the small group of people that you're serving. In a relationship, you always have to think about how you can give more to the other people. It is in giving that we receive. When we give a better life to others, they give a better one for us, too.
